Employer branding is one of the most important ways to distinguish a company in this day and age of 24/7 media overload. The Randstad Award survey is the largest piece of employer branding research in the world and it’s completely independent.
The Randstad Award identifies the most attractive companies in the target countries. The survey findings are used to produce three kinds of reports focused on companies, countries and sectors.
Media one of top favorite work industries in Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and New Zealand
Job security remains key factor in choosing a new employer in Europe
Salary most important factor in New Zealand, especially for men, when choosing an employer
Job security more valued by people over the age of 40
People with lower education more concerned with long-term job security
Importance of salary higher in APAC and Americas (63%) versus Europe (53%)
Pleasant work atmosphere generally linked to recognition and feeling part of a team
In New Zealand, pleasant work atmosphere primarily linked to open & honest communications
Most Japanese employees link interesting job content to development of skills
Women (58%) more sensitive to pleasant work atmosphere than men (49%)

Men (43%) more often look for career advancement opportunities than women (37%)
Women more concerned with an easy commute when looking for an employer
Good training more often searched by people aged below 40
People over 40 more interested in employer's financial health
Job security and financial health key aspects to Belgian workforce
Salary most important factor according to Japanese, especially men, when looking for an employer
Pleasant work atmosphere still key factor to employees in The Netherlands
Job content worldwide associated with ability to make use of current skills
Aeronautics still most attractive sector to potential workforce in France
Employer's financial health becomes key factor to employees and job seekers in Poland
