- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to develop and implement comprehensive individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Engagement and Motivation: Keep the student engaged and motivated by making learning activities interesting and accessible.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor the student's progress closely, provide regular updates to teachers and parents, and adjust strategies as necessary to optimise learning outcomes.
- Behaviour Management: Assist in managing behaviours through positive reinforcement and effective behavioural strategies that promote emotional regulation and social skills.
- Resourceful Learning: Utilise various educational tools and adapt resources to enhance the student's learning experience and address any barriers.
Requirements:
- Relevant Experience: Experience in a 1-1 teaching assistant role, particularly with SEN students, is essential.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills are required to build trusting relationships with students, families, and school staff.
- Dedication to SEN: Demonstrated commitment to supporting the educational development of children with special needs.
- Flexibility and Creativity: Ability to creatively adapt teaching methods and materials to the student's needs.
