An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Audit and Risk Specialist for a short term contract with a NSW Government organisation located in Wollongong.
The role is responsible for ensuring that a risk management framework is in place that supports the agency to achieve its objectives by systematically identifying and managing risks. This position will also provide support to their extensive network of internal and external stakeholders. You will be technically minded, energetic and experienced in Audit and Risk.
The Audit and Risk specialist is responsible for the management of a comprehensive risk management framework, to ensure that risks are identified and evaluate existing internal controls' ability to mitigate the impact and likelihood of occurrence of the identified risk.Maintaining an awareness within management of changes in operations, regulations and audit practices in order to evaluate, and advocate and influence the highest standards of professionalism.
The Audit and Risk Specialist will also manage the out-sourced internal audit function for internal audit services delivered by the third party, to ensure that the agency retains control of the internal audit strategic direction.
- Degree from an accredited institution in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Extensive experience in risk based internal auditing. Experience in managing an out-sourced internal audit function.
- Extensive experience in managing, maintaining and embedding an Enterprise Risk Management framework.
