The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) respond to 34,000 calls per year from Melbourne’s four million residents and employs 1800 fire fighters and 400 corporate staff. Its specialist services include urban search and rescue, response to fires and hazardous incidents, road accident rescue, emergency medical response and marine response. Developing a strong working relationship with the Regional Director, you will manage and co-ordinate their diary & inbox. This Executive Assistant position will require a proactive approach in developing a strong understanding of the Regional Directors role, to effectively manage the flow of communication via email and telephone. Within this position, there will be a responsibility for the preparation of meeting minutes, agendas and assistance with visual and written presentations displaying a good command of the English language and grammar.
The role will see you deliver a high level of executive support whilst being versatile in applying your skills to provide support on additional projects and support the variety of positions the Regional Director works across. You will display clear understanding and professionalism when dealing with the sensitive or confidential material.
The Successful Candidate:
Will be confident in their communications and have proven experience in developing strong working relationships. You will be able to adapt to changes quite easily, and be able to prioritise not only your work but have the ability to step in and confidently manage up. You will have previous experience in the preparations and planning of meetings and events.
This fast paced and varied role will require someone who is extremely flexible and able to adapt to a demanding and changing environment. There will be potential for travel with minimal notice due to the nature of the Regional Directors role and the organisation. You will provide a strong sense of loyalty to the Regional Director whilst work closely within his team.
The successful candidate will have :
- Previous experience supporting a senior executive
- Strong level of confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with the confidence to prioritise workload
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of board minutes and papers
- A mature approach with the ability to self-manage and motivate
This role will provide you with:
- 12 months fixed term appointment with high potential for permanency

- Potential for monthly RDO
