A Project Manager position has arisen with a well recognized local government team due to a influx in capital expenditure, this role will initially be for a long term contract of 12 months with the opportunity to extend.

The project manager will need to read and interpret documents outlining the requirements. The PM will need to analyse data and identify gaps in current data that require property inspection and finalising of classifications is to be completed by 31 December. Briefs to Senior Management, presentations to Councillors will be required to explain the changes and their implications on the organisation and the customer.

Software changes will be required. The PM should research software shortfalls and work with other Councils and software suppliers as well as internal stakeholders to ensure necessary upgrades are obtained within the required timeframes. The PM will need to design appropriate reconciliation processes, and reports, with adequate audit trails to ensure ESPL are:

  1. a) Land is appropriately classified
  2. b) Land is charged the correct ESPL
  3. c) ESPL paid by customers is repaid to the NSW Govt per legislation.

The PM will need to liaise with Customer Service and Communications and deliver appropriate community consultation on the new levy which will be charged from 1 July 2017. The PM will need to train staff on the changes and ongoing requirements (ie. The new BAU processes). The changes should be documented to ensure full cost recovery from the NSW government.

Processes should be documented to ensure adequate training and information flow has occurred.

The PM will also have local government experience.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal check.

Ideally, you will hold a Degree in Project Management (or similar). Essentially, you will have a track record of local experience working with a reputable councils. If you have experience and knowledge of RMS/RTA specifications that will be a major advantage.
