Our client, one of Adelaide's most strategic Local Council Procurement Departments requires a Senior Contracts Officer to commence immediately in an on-going contract role.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing the procurement process from identification of a need to managing the contract delivery to completion.
  • Sound contract establishment and management skills including:
    • Development of procurement strategies
    • Application of risk management tools and processes
    • Preparation of contract documentation including commercial terms, specifications, KPI's and vendor response schedules
    • Development of tender evaluation plans
    • Development and execution of negotiation plans
    • Good understanding of contract law
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of contract law
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of working across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal customers and key suppliers and contractors
  • Ability to contribute to Council initiatives to improve contract performance
  • Ability to identify opportunities for contract establishment to improve the value for money and risk management of the organisation
  • Ability to provide commercial advice, price reviews, negotiate contract variations and support to settle disputes
  • Provide advice and support to internal customers to ensure contract delivery performance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

To be successful for this role you will have current procurement and contracts experience, preferably within Local Council or State Government.

Qualifications in procurement, commercial, contract law or related discipline is desirable.
