The Role:

You will be buying things for the company looking for the best deals, negotiating prices with suppliers, and making sure the company has what it needs. You will need to build good relationships with suppliers and make sure everything runs smoothly. Demonstrate leadership skills, be able to come up with strategies, and be good at solving problems. You will need to understand cost management, contracts, and supply chains.

• Managing the process of buying goods for a company.
• Purchasing, managing costs, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and making sure there are enough supplies available.
• Build good relationships with suppliers and making sure everything runs smoothly.
• leading projects to improve the buying process, introducing new products efficiently, and finding ways to save money and improve quality.
• Mentoring other team members and promoting professionalism and ethical behaviour.
• Strategic thinking using tools like 6 Sigma to understand how well suppliers are performing, exploring different options, and making decisions that benefit the company.
• Understanding the company's customers and making sure their needs are met.
• Developing relationships with suppliers is crucial working closely with them to improve processes and ensure quality. Being able to analyse problems, communicate effectively, and negotiate deals
• Understanding concepts like Lean Manufacturing and having a good grasp of business economics
• Experience in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, or engineering is valuable for this role.
• Project leadership experience and knowledge of continuous improvement principles are also beneficial.
• Looking ahead, the role involves developing strategies for global sourcing, ensuring a smooth flow of materials and services, and meeting targets for efficiency and quality.
