My client, a high profile civil engineering and construction firm are currently looking for a Commercial Assistant on a prestigious rail project in the North of England.
Key activities will include
- Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy. Be aware and contribute in "Your Safety is My Safety" vision
- Review requisition requests and process in SAP
- Place orders for Consumables and Stationary through the relevant Company Portals
- Provide assistance in raising subcontract orders in SAP
- Issue correspondence to relevant suppliers and subcontractors
- Collation of delivery tickets
- Bought ledger invoice clearance to agreed payment terms, raising queries with suppliers where necessary
- Collate records and input into cost allocation systems
- Maintain document filing system
- Assist in general with commercial functions
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time
- Ensure compliance and adherence with project and company commercial procedures to follow an agreed process for cost control
Qualifications & Experience
- GCSE in English and Mathematics
- To be diligent and motivated
- Demonstrate a desire to learn
- Good communication skills
- Proactive team player
- Good attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- Experience with SAP and Excel is desirable
- Previous industry experience would be an advantageous
