About the Role:
Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Leasing Manager for a 3-month contract role with the potential for extension or permanency. You will be working with a government department, contributing to whole-of-Government lease procurement and management, including financial and tenancy management. This role involves supporting regional policies and managing leased supply in alignment with the Strategic Portfolio Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with delivering leasing projects and providing office accommodation for the department.
- Contribute to the leasing team’s planning and delivery of leased assets within the State Government’s property portfolio.
- Provide lease management advice to multi-disciplinary teams involved in commercial leasing.
- Develop and implement best practice policies, guidelines, and systems for leased office accommodation procurement and management.
- Implement policies and strategies within specific geographic or functional responsibilities.
- Undertake lease negotiation and manage a portfolio of leased buildings.
- Offer timely and well-researched advice on marketplace conditions and industry trends to support strategic planning.
- Represent the department at intra and inter-departmental meetings and external forums.
- Collect and analyze data, prepare briefing notes, and information papers for various committees and executives.
- Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting information.
- Assist in updating lease management, tenancy, and financial management systems.
- Develop networks across departments and relevant industry organizations.
- Contribute content for executive correspondence and briefing notes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven knowledge and strong skills in lease procurement and lease management, including financial and tenancy management.
- Ability to work flexibly without supervision, effectively managing new and unexpected events, and demonstrating sound judgment on issue escalation.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and report progress and potential delays.
- Capability to build networks with peers and collaborate effectively with others.
- Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and customers in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Clear understanding of how your work contributes to organizational objectives.
Successful candidates will:
- Hold relevant qualifications in Property Economics
- Possess current Open Class C Driver's Licence (Queensland) or equivalent.
- Pass a Criminal history check prior to appointment
- Be eligible to work within Australia. (Proof of this will be required in the application process)
