Experience: You should have a minimum of an internationally recognised TEFL qualification (Cambridge CELTA/Trinity certTESOL) and 2 years of relevant experience of which 500+ hours must be gained from teaching young learners.

The projects have been running since 2011 and thanks to their outstanding success, they are delighted to have the opportunity to extend their duration in to 2014 and beyond.
For experienced Primary sector and ESL teachers with significant Young Learner teaching and mentoring experience looking to develop their experience of mentoring skills, this is an opportunity to work on a unique English Language Teacher Development Project (ELTDP) on the island of Borneo in East Malaysia which aims to provide Malaysian primary teachers with professional support in order to improve the teaching of English in Malaysia.
Requirements: Our client is looking for Teacher Development Mentors to join a team of 120 teacher development mentors each providing on-the-job mentoring support to primary teachers working in a cluster of state primary schools in Malaysian Borneo.
You will need to be independent, flexible, resilient and self-motivated. Many postings will be in remote, rural locations and while an extensive professional and pastoral support network is provided, applicants should be comfortable with often being the sole trainer or mentor in the communities they work in.
You should have a minimum of an internationally recognised TEFL qualification (Cambridge CELTA/Trinity certTESOL) and 2 years of relevant experience of which 500+ hours must be gained from teaching young learners. In addition you must be a highly proficient speaker of English with an undergraduate university degree. Experience of teacher training/development, line management or coaching/mentoring is desirable. Experience and knowledge of state primary education systems is also desirable.
Due to visa restrictions, candidates must be between the ages of 27 and 63 years of age.
