Reporting to the APAC Director, this role will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of import compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across our company-owned subsidiaries and offices in the APJ region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain import compliance policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for import compliance matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Lead import classification efforts for products and components, ensuring accurate determination of tariff codes and valuation methods.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of import activities, identifying areas of non-compliance and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party service providers to ensure smooth and compliant import processes.
- Stay abreast of changes in import regulations and trade agreements, proactively assessing potential impacts on company operations and advising management accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, finance, and legal, to integrate import compliance considerations into business processes and decision-making.
- Represent the company in interactions with customs authorities and government agencies, maintaining positive relationships and addressing compliance inquiries or audits.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on import compliance requirements and procedures, promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in import compliance or customs operations, preferably in the technology or electronics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures in the APJ region.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance implications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
