Exciting Opportunity as a Learning Support Assistant in Whitchurch
Join our vibrant educational team in Whitchurch and play a pivotal role in supporting students' learning and development. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide individualised support to students with diverse learning needs.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Individualised Support: Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Approachable Learning: Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist students in accessing the curriculum.
Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for students' needs.
Student Engagement: Encourage student engagement and participation in classroom activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Behaviour Management: Support teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies and maintaining a calm and productive learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications: Hold a relevant qualification in education or support services, such as an NVQ2/NVQ3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Experience: Previous experience in a learning support role or working with students with additional needs is advantageous but not essential.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and collaborate effectively with teachers.
Empathy and Patience: Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding when working with students who may require additional support.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and support different learning styles and strategies.
