A leading provider of water purification systems in the life sciences and medical industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our clients are seeking a dynamic and mechanically inclined individual to join the team as a Travelling Field Service Technician.
The ideal candidate would be located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), a well-rounded jack of all trades, who likes to troubleshoot and fix things, and who can travel 60% of the time throughout Canada and the US.
Advantages
Temporary position to permanent position based on performance
Hours: Monday - Friday - 8 hour days with on-call (rare) and some overtime required
Salary: $33 - $40 an hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities
As a Travelling Field Service Technician for this great company located in North America, a normal day would include:
- conduct installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of water purification systems in laboratory settings (hospitals, universities, government buildings, etc)
- provide professional and timely service while adhering to customer on-site regulations and rules
- independently manage a 60% travel schedule throughout Canada and North America with all business expenses covered
- be available for 24-hour support (rare)
- close work orders daily, document detailed completion notes
- communicate with customers in advance to adapt to repair schedules and ensure customer satisfaction
- manage physical consignment inventory and keep tools and test equipment calibrated and in working order
- demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to handle difficult customer situations with professionalism
Qualifications
Who is the perfect match for this position?
- degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
- high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of field service experience or skilled trades
- ability to handle difficult customers and situations with a customer-focused approach
- proficient computer skills (must be able to use CRM, close work orders and document service details electronically)
- willingness to work overtime as required based on business needs
- inquisitive nature, self-motivated, and able to work independently and with others
- valid passport and full G class driver's license with clean abstract
