It's 1960 and two economics students are cycling through Amsterdam. The sun's shining and Frits Goldschmeding is chatting to a friend about this thesis on temporary staffing agencies abroad. "There's nothing like that in the Netherlands," Goldschmeding points out. "Maybe we should set something up." It proved to be a fateful moment. Ben Noteboom joined Randstad in 1993. After a few assignments, he became managing director of Capac in 1997. In the beginning of 2000 Ben Noteboom was appointed managing director operations of the Large Scale Division Europe. He became Member of the Executive Board in 2001, responsible for Yacht and Inhouse Services Europe. One year later the portfolio was changed to include also the Randstad operating companies in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Italy and Switzerland and IT.
As of September 2002, Ben Noteboom was appointed interim President and Chief Executive Officer. As of March 2003 Ben Noteboom has been appointed chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Randstad Holding. |
