Randstad lodges appeal against fine imposed by AFM

Randstad Holding nv, the world's second largest HR services provider, announces that it has lodged an appeal against the decision of the Authority Financial Markets ('AFM'), as published yesterday after market closing, to fine the company for an amount of € 96,000. Randstad received this fine in the capacity as legal successor of Vedior N.V., which was acquired effective July 2008. The fine relates to the investigation by the AFM into Vedior N.V. and its share price movements on November 30, 2007, prior to the public announcement on the preliminary discussions between Randstad and Vedior.

More information will be provided if and when appropriate.
