Earlier this week the Clipper Stad Amsterdam, in the guise of one of history's most famous ships, the HMS Beagle, departed Plymouth, UK for a year-long voyage around the world, as it follows in the footsteps of Charles Darwin.
This historic trip, which is being made as part of documentary series to air on Dutch and Belgium television networks, celebrates the 150 year anniversary of On the Origin of Species, Darwins' theory of evolution. Darwins great, great grand daughter, Sarah Darwin, is onboard, along with other scientists and international researchers, to probe the past, present and future of life as it evolves on our planet.
As the Clipper makes its way around the world, Randstad staff in both South America and Australia will welcome the ship into their ports and have a chance to experience this one-of-kind ship.
We wish the Clipper Stad Amsterdam (aka the Beagle) many safe and exciting adventures over the coming months and on the high seas!
