The Randstad Group has announced a series of mergers that will help to develop its standing in the construction and healthcare industries.

Global firms Beresford Blake Thomas (BBT) and Hill McGlynn are to merge and be rebranded Randstad Construction, Property and Engineering.

In addition, BBT's portfolio of Middle East-based specialist businesses will be rebranded as Randstad Middle East.

The Construction, Property and Engineering division will be formed by the merger of its construction business with Hill McGlynn's operation in the Middle East.

BBT's UK-based Health and Social Care business is due to merge with fellow UK firm Reliance Care and will be known as Randstad Care.

Randstad Executive Board Director Brian Wilkinson asserted that the moves will be very positive for the group.

He commented: "Clients will benefit from access to a larger pool of high-quality talent and candidates will have the opportunity to apply for a broader range of career building jobs."

The developments are due to take place from October 1st this year.
