This pre-launch already addresses some relevant issues:
- the Lisbon employment targets will not be met - with or without the recession
- we need to further increase participation rates to fill the gap of 30,000 people in 2050 in the European labor market, a gap caused by the demographic crunch (aging & declining population growth)
- we identify several drivers of participation & best practices to raise the participation of women, elderly workers and long-term unemployed
- temporary agency work plays a pivotal role in creating a sustainable labor market
