Randstad gives its employees the possibility to work as a volunteer in a developing country for a period of 6-9 months (shorter placements are possible). Below the stories of employees that already volunteered.

Role: writing reports to explain donors how their funds have been managed, research on donors interests and create a project proposal model

Placement: management consultant at Mitra in India (Aug. – Oct. 2005)
Role: Ina has advised MITRA on a strategic level about how they can carry out their programs bestand most effective. Her main responsibilities will be to facilitate the creation and implementation of an organizational strategy and business plan.

Placement: management consultant a UDPK in Kenya (Sept. 2005 – Dec. 2005)
Role: UPDK is an umbrella organization for disabled people. Astrid advised the management about the HR structures and management skills.

Placement: HR consultant in Edernet, Mongolia (Feb. – May 2006)
Role: Ben has worked for a carpet factory in Edernet. The factory has about 1,000 employees and developed a HR policy for these people. Ben assessed this policy.

Placement: management advisor at the FUGA organization in Uganda (Aug. 2006 - May 2007)
Role: Frouke advises the management and staff about budgeting, planning and control. She also helps them write fundraising proposals and evaluate their projects.
