The number of jobs advertised in Australia in the month of January showed a marked increase, both on the final month of 2011 and on the year prior, according to latest released data.
In the ANZ Job Advertisements Survey, it was revealed that the number of jobs advertised, both online and in the newspapers across the country, had risen by some six per cent in January alone when compared to December.
The survey also showed a positive year of growth, with jobs advertised in the country in the first month of 2012 being higher than in the same month last year by 0.7 per cent.
ANZ head of Australian economics and property research Ivan Colhoun said: "We remain mindful of the usual problem of significant volatility in the monthly data over the December-January holiday period."
This will be a new boost to Australian employment, after it was revealed last month by the Australian Bureau of Labour Statistics that employment levels in December had stayed flat compared to November.
