Predictions for the Canadian jobs market in 2009 have been revealed by executive search firm Manpower Canada.
A survey conducted by the organization discovered that few firms are interested in expanding their workforces in 2009, reported CBC.
It found that only 16 percent of Canadian firms plan to advertise positions next year, with reductions hitting the Ontario area hardest.
This news comes after Statistics Canada announced last week that the country's unemployment rate stood at 6.3 percent in November.
Meanwhile, it was announced yesterday that Saskatchewan has the highest employment rate in the whole of the country.
According to recent figures from Statistics Canada, the area saw job growth of 14,800 in November compared to a year previously.
