Democrats pledge job creation bill
The ruling US Democratic Party has pledged to stimulate the country's economy with a jobs-producing bill.

Identifying that the government must do more to assist people back into work, Steny Hoyer, majority leader of the House of Representatives, explained that double-digit unemployment can not be tolerated.

Debating ways that the labor market can be assisted in the current climate, House Democrats have suggested extending unemployment benefits, additional help for small businesses and public infrastructure projects.

"I wouldn't characterize it as a second stimulus, said Mr Hoyer. "I don't want to be as broad as that, I want it to be very targeted on jobs."

However, this legislation will have to wait until Barack Obama's much vaunted health care overhaul bill is finally approved by Congress.

The US unemployment rate reached 10.2 per cent in October, which is the highest figure recorded by the labor department for 26 years.ADNFCR-1275-ID-19468351-ADNFCR
