US IT employment declines
The declines in employment witnessed within the US IT industry continued to slow in June, according to the latest figures.

TechServe Alliance has revealed that employment within the North American country's technology sector has fallen to 3,828,900, which is 16,000 fewer jobs than recorded in May and a decline of 4.9 per cent year-on-year.

Based around figures released by the US Bureau of Statistics, the company's IT index includes occupations within 16 industry sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, education and retail.

Mark Roberts, chief executive of TechServe Alliance, explained that there will certainly be more "difficult months ahead".

He said: "While IT employment is still contracting, June's more moderate decline is consistent with our recent survey data that suggests stabilization of the IT employment picture."

Earlier this month, vice president Joe Biden suggested that Barack Obama's administration "misread" the US labor market situation earlier this year when it predicted that unemployment would not surpass eight per cent.ADNFCR-1275-ID-19261975-ADNFCR
