What you’ll be doing
•Governance cycle owner for line of business (LOB) planning– preparation of the strategic plan, annual budget (LOB level, then detailed field level), and monthly forecast
•Business controller for Corporate Services (head office departments) – monthly spend review, forecasting and annual budgeting, including Capex planning
•Planning and analysis of management allocations
•Bridging statement owner for monthly variance analysis for your line of business and Corporate Services
•Understand and support performance monitoring at branch level for your LOB through regular reporting and analysis of KPIs
•Act as the representative of Finance in the LOB, explaining to the president, the VPs and the branch managers the financial results, and bridging the operational performance tracking with the financial reports from JDE, our accounting system
•Work with the Director and Business Controller, Corporate in coordinating the process, deadlines and overall structure of management presentations. Work closely with the LOB president and VPs to prepare all financial aspects of LOB presentations, including monthly results calls, quarterly business reviews, budget presentations, and specific projects.
•Become a budget model expert for your LOB and actively support the operational management in the preparation of their budget by region and branch.
•Quantify the impact of various LOB projects and present their impact to management
•Customer profitability analysis & margin control
•Price reporting - markup/ margin by region and VP
•Ad-hoc support for field questions on financials at branch and unit level

Do you have the right qualifications?
•CPA designation, with prior FP&A experience
•Experience with P&L analysis, management presentations, and advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and financial modeling
•Works well autonomously, taking ownership of the work assigned, with excellent problem solving skills
•Ability to proactively identify operational & financial trends and screen for risks and opportunities
•Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
•Develop effective relationships and liaise between functional departments for execution of strategic initiatives; manage multiple stakeholders’ expectations
•Passion for the business and high service orientation
•Sensitivity with confidential and critical information
•Comfortable using extensively G Suite (Google Drive, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar)
•Due to the nature and function of this role, the ability to work overtime and non-standard business hours is sometimes required

About our department - Business Control & Strategy responsibilities
Our team has a dual perspective, both strategic and financial. Working closely with the lines of business, Business Control ties together corporate and field financial planning and analysis to synthesize management information and operational concepts knowledge, facilitate the corporate governance cycle, review financial performance, build trust relationships and enforce standard controls to support the achievement of company objectives. The team includes four business controllers and a business analyst led by a Director, reporting to the CFO. The department works directly with the senior executives team.
