Risk & Audit Manager
Situated in Ville St. Laurent

Job description:
The risk & audit manager (RAM) supports the management team in securing the ‘in-control’ position of the company by conducting risk assessments, managing the overall internal control framework, providing the necessary tools and support and delivering assurance on selected areas. This function interfaces with all levels of the organization. In addition, the department will lead special assignments on request of the management team.

Responsibilities include:
•Conduct risk assessments and identifies and tests controls in place to mitigate identified risks and provide advice for further improvement
•Give recommendations about the quality of existing policies, procedures, systems and internal controls in relation to business processes and business risks
•Development and successful execution of audit plans and special assignments including fraud investigations
•Act as a business partner to the different lines of business which includes assistance with the Key Control Assessment process, closure of action plans resulting from either audits or self-assessments and an understanding of the enterprise and audit risks impacting the business
•Drive and initiate companywide projects to build the profile of audit in each of the company business lines
•Overall coordination of the risk and controls reporting cycle for the company
•Close cooperation with the senior management team for the company regarding the key risk areas
•Being a key contact person for the external auditors, including scoping and planning with the external auditors, as well as for Group Business Risk & Audit (corporate auditors)

Qualifications / Experience:
•Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Audit or Information Systems Audit qualification
•6 – 10 years’ experience, preferably in a Big 4 or comparable environment or internal audit experience in a large or multi-national company
•Experience managing the organization’s insurance programs is desirable
•Comfortable working with operational people and across functional areas outside of finance
•Previous international working experience or experience with an international company based in this country would also be highly recommended
•Fluent French and English is a must
