(Senior) IT Consultant for our Global IT organisation.

your typical day includes
As an IT Consultant you are part of a high-performance culture that defines and drives our Human Forward ambition. You will play an important role in realizing the Tech and Touch strategy of Randstad on a global scale.

You will be part of a team of dedicated IT Consultants who are responsible for the strategy and performance of IT worldwide. Randstad is active in 38 countries and each operating companies has IT departments, ranging from large to small depending on the size of the business. Global IT delivers the IT strategy, policies and standards to ensure Randstad has customer centric, effective and efficient systems. Secondly, we facilitate global contracts and projects to leverage our group scale. In addition, we support the country IT departments where needed. For example, we actively support major IT programs worldwide and advise senior management on IT decisions. Finally, Global IT is a key contributor to global shared service like for global infrastructure (called GIS - Global IT Solutions) and our digital team (called the Digital Factory).

In your typical working day, you might be managing projects, from simple to complex, from small to large. You support and help to steer our local companies in their IT efforts. This can be as a member of the steering committee for large complex programs or as a trusted advisor for the local management teams. You work with business and IT leaders to create their digital agenda for our operating companies. It could also mean you are negotiating a global contract or you are organising an event with our colleagues. You can be a key member for global solution development in our Digital factory, GIS organisations or for other global functions like Finance, Marketing & Communications, Legal, Business Concepts or HR. You also keep up to speed on the latest business and technology developments, in and outside the company, and connect with experts and external parties. And of course we also like to celebrate success or just relax and reflect so social events are certainly part of your program too.

It is a truly complex international environment and it is exciting to work with colleagues and external partners from all parts of the world. As we are using videoconferencing extensively, it is not uncommon to fly virtually around the world the day. Your working location is Diemen, The Netherlands. Travel will be involved but we value a healthy work-life balance and keep it a good eye on where it makes economic sense. You will get a large degree of freedom and trust in organizing your activities in the way that fits your needs and that of the company best.

As Global IT consultant, you will get comfortable in working in very diverse teams and circumstances. We will provide you with excellent coaching and support and favor continuous development of your personal and technical skills. your background
You have experience in the staffing industry and you are interested in how our business works. You will have the complex task to bridge all the global IT developments to our global and local businesses and align them where possible. You have a strong technical background, you’ve been a technician yourself or have the knowledge, skills, interest and experience to hold your own in technical discussions. You can explain complexity in a simple way and you have the proven ability to make a complex situation simple again. Recently you have experience in managing large projects and programs and/or have been managing an IT organisation in an international setting. You are a C-level leader that can advise your peers and colleagues and maintain a healthy relationship with our suppliers. We expect you have the education and training to back this up. You have the skills and experience to be an advisor and an authority in your field of expertise and if not, you know how to organise this. Your experience with change management, project management and digitisation projects are part of your CV and of course you know your way around in organisations that use different methodologies, varying from Lean, Scrum and Agile to Waterfall.

In the end, you know how to get things done, together with others.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to global IT strategy, policies and performance
  • Owner of specific parts of the IT strategy, standards and policies: this means creating, maintaining, communicating and supporting these strategic standards and/or policies worldwide
  • Owner of specific global contract; this means collecting requirements, alignment of objectives with global functions and the Opcos, contracting with supplier, contract and vendor management together with procurement
  • Manage global IT programs; this means defining objectives, creating governance, managing activities of IT programs that cover multiple countries
  • Support major IT programs in the Opcos; for example participate in steering committees and provide expertise to major Opco implementations, translating global priorities and solutions to the local situation
  • Provide advice to senior management on IT choices, ranging from Executive Board members, Managing Directors and management teams of Opcos to CIOs / CTOs / CDOs and their teams
  • Monitor IT performance in Opcos worldwide
  • Participate in global shared service centers GIS (Global IT Solutions, responsible for datacenters and networks) and Digital Factory (responsible for global digital strategy and delivery)
  • Be global expert on specific content matters; this means staying up to date with the latest knowledge and developments, connecting with external experts and providing your knowledge to others where needed
