job description

Title: Senior Control Centre Analyst Report to: Control Centre Manager Key Responsibilities: 1.Manage activities for onsite or offshore contractor resources. 2.Regional Leadership ?·Represent the team to other technical teams within the organization; ?·During crisis - attend relevant crisis calls/chats and lead team activities required to resolve the problem; ?·Support the other technical team leads in the region in their overall activities such as performance improvement, major changes, system upgrades, or any other general technical management. 3.Technology Management ?·Provide flawless and timely operational support across all job scheduling, backup & restore and event management technologies; ?·Support and develop tools providing proactive monitoring, alerting and self-healing (automated problem resolution) solutions for infrastructure and applications; ?·Ensure any incidents related to SCC technologies are resolved in a timely manner and the resolution is communicated to stakeholders; ? ·For monitoring & alerts services be the responsible to design and propose the technology roadmap for continuous improvements and capacity plan. ?·Analyze the incidents and potential risks identified by the vendors for each of the technologies and isolate the relevant problems; ?·Pro-actively address issues identified through the on-going monitoring of the environment and complete the required tuning to resolve the issues; ?·Participate in resolving problems in collaboration with all areas into Core Services teams; ?·Analyze and report on service performance and capacity trends, and proposing actions or CIP’s; ?·Execute technical activities to maintain practical technical knowledge and documentation accuracy. 4.Knowledge Management ?·Work closely with the Service Delivery teams to ensure smooth support take on of new job scheduling, backup & restore routines, and event management technologies; ? ·Continuously develop self and team knowledge for services into SCC portfolio; ? ·Develop team knowledge and processes according to the industry best practices such as ITIL/ITSM. 5.Project Management ? ·Lead medium term projects (up to 6 months) linked to technology and process improvements. 6.Vendor Management ? ·Support the supplier service delivery review with the local team manager; ? ·Gain expert level support from software vendors and consultants; ? ·Lead architecture reviews with specific vendor experts; ? ·Support the Mars IS Commercial vendor review process by providing own input Qualifications: 1.Education & Professional Qualification ? ·Undergraduate degree (MIS or Computer Science a plus). ?·ITIL Certification or demonstrated thorough understanding of ITIL. ?·Need to have at least one formal industry qualification or relevant proven experiences in the area of specialty. 2.Knowledge/Experience ? ·Minimum of 4-6 years’ professional experience in Information Technology areas. ? ·Minimum 3 years’ experience of monitoring solutions. (i.e. HP OML/Omi, HP SiteScope, Microsoft SCOM, CA Spectrum) ?·Oracle / SQL / SAP / UNIX / Windows experience an advantage. Have primary understanding on CMDB, including the data relationship and modeling skills. ? ·Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, work independently, take initiative/ownership, and achieve stated goals and objectives is required. ? ·Strong customer orientation with a focus on delivery of value added service. ? ·Self-reliance, strong personal integrity and emotional stability. ? ·Ability to work effectively in a flexible and changing environment, manage multiple activities and priorities, and work well under pressure. ? ·Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with individuals/teams across multiple cultures sites and time zones. ? ·Strong verbal and written communication skills. ? ·Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of associates from operational to senior management ? ·Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills quickly, and to apply this learning. ? ·Ability to work hands on in the technology. ? ·Solid knowledge of background operations such as NOC (Network Operations Center) for monitoring solutions and preventive KPIs for incidents
