Location: Yantai, Shandong Province, China

Contract: 2 years renewable

School Ethos/Vision: This excellent schools group with campuses in various parts of China and Hong Kong and founded in 1932 have recently used their expertise to set up new schools for Chinese Nationals to enjoy the same excellent international education opportunities. This school opened in 2000. The schools are committed to educate the whole person from infancy through secondary education. They strive to unite the best elements of Eastern and Western traditions and practices, the growth of the individual and the inquiring mind as well as develop a sense of personal responsibility and social welfare of all. With excellent facilities across all campuses, these schools employ a bilingual philosophy, exemplified by engaging a co teaching with a Chinese and western teacher team teaching.

Location Overview: Yantai is a coastal city in Shandong Province well known for its beaches and coastline. It retains some of its colonial history and enjoys a quieter pace of life than other Chinese cities. The city has a growing expat community - but less obviously than some of the other major cities such as Shanghai. If you enjoy a more laid back, authentic way of life and you like the coastal location - this city is for you.

Requirements: You should be a qualified teacher with a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in order to teach in China. This role will involve coordinating both the Primary and secondary curriculum but will likely suit a more Primary experienced applicant as applicants will need a good grasp of Early years up to KS3. There will be a secondary element and secondary trained teachers can be considered too - but the focus will be in the lower grades. UK experience is desirable but not essential if you are an adaptable and flexible confident educator. You should have an inquiry based approach to your teaching and an ability to work well within a variety of cultures. Previous experience of working with EAL (Students with English as their second language is desirable). You should be adaptable and flexible and have a positive approach to life!

Package: Excellent monthly salary dependent upon qualifications and experience; flights, furnished housing, medical cover also included.
