Role Profile Confidential General Manager, China Location: Shenzhen Reporting to an Executive Director, this is a senior leadership role responsible for growing our Construction Management / Project Management (CM / PM) businesses in China, particularly in the Greater Bay Area. Its main duties are as follows: - Formulate business strategies and a 5-year Growth Plan for China, and deliver the Key Performance Indicators approved by the Executive Committee. - Identify target business opportunities, establish the execution plans and review it regularly with the Executive Committee. - Develop strong business relationships with the prospective clients, consultants, joint venture partners and supply chain. - Complete necessary internal and external approvals before execution as required by the Company and local authorities for project bidding, financing, assets purchase, project start-up and operations. - Ensure that all business activities including business development, design and engineering, planning, construction, legal, finance, human resources etc. are well coordinated in line with the Company’s policies and requirements. - Lead and manage all business activities without compromising The Gammon Way of Safety, Integrity and Excellence. We are looking for a candidate with the following qualities: - A degree holder in engineering / construction related disciplines. - Strong fluency in Putonghua, English and Cantonese. - At least 15 years’ relevant experience in building project management and construction management in a sizable contractor. - Proven track record in winning and executing CM / PM contracts in the Greater Bay Area. - Established network with local authorities, supply chains, clients and specialist consultants in the Greater bay Area. - Strong business acumen in the China CM / PM market. - Solid command of business planning, financial analysis and commercial skills. - Strong safety mindset and personal integrity. - Strong personal drive to get things done. - Able to solve complex issues in a collaborative style involving different parties. - Excellent presentation skills at board level.
