Responsibilities:
1.Gain mastery of Lean Enterprise materials and implementation methods through on-site training at our San Diego site.
2.Create local presence and structure for the KPO (Kaizen Promotion Office) on site. KPO initiatives are supported tactically in kaizen activities.Create site KPIs and best practices for the platform and ensure kaizen activities are working in support of it.
3.Advise and mentor local Executive Leadership on strategic and operational opportunities for improvement and to develop roadmaps that illustrate feasible approaches to achieve them.Work with appropriate parties to manage resource allocations based off site goals and priorities. Provide update and status feedback to internal customers as to project status and any updates. Mentor and support engineering staff and team.
4.Develop a rolling six month plan for kaizen activities with site management.Drive the site effort to link our customers to our manufacturing and ultimately our suppliers with supermarkets, Kanban and other lean tools through the Lean Enterprise platform (Safety, Quality, Efficiency & Delivery).
5.Performance improvement efforts, oversees the status and monitoring of operations improvement efforts, coordinates the improvement dashboard(s), and facilitates the training of individuals and teams throughout the organization utilizing the Lean Enterprise tools and techniques.
6.Provide quality compliance to team and lean activities, drive and instill quality/regulatory compliance on all projects and goals.Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA and other regulatory agencies.
7.Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSR’s, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR.
8.Support Kaizen activities company site wide.

Qualifications:
1.Four-year degree preferably in engineering (Industrial and Systems Engineering) with background in manufacturing.
2.5-7 years in previous experience deploying Lean in a manufacturing setting is required. Proven track record of previous experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
3.Experience in high volume medical device manufacturing per GMP standards. Experience in working in an Kaizen/Lean environment a plus.
4.Have experience in developing the strategy and leading a successful lean enterprise transition(s) through full maturity with sustained results. Must have significant experience in change management techniques and demonstrated success influencing cultural change.
5.Experience tracking a complex network of ongoing activities and teams. This includes being able to demonstrate, at any given time, the various activities ongoing, the status and timeline of each, and the anticipated impact (financial or other).
6.Have the skills and personality that will to be successful working at all levels of an organization - board room to MFG floor- platform skills, presence, and confidence.
7.Hands on, able work with an mentor team members.
8.Need to be a self-starter and self-sufficient. Also need to demonstrate high commitment to quality and compliance while balancing the practical organizational business risk.
9.Need to be able to lead teams as well as be a contributor on kaizen activities. Need to lead kaizen team towards site goals and objectives and prioritize activities towards the site goals.
