Summary of Essential Duties

The Key Role of Country HR Manager (CHRM) is a strategic business partner (BP) to develop, implement and execute a business/functional HR strategy, in line with the Business strategies.  CHRM will lead the HR team to drive changes, improve the process/efficiency and implement new HR strategies to strengthen the organization to the next level.


CHRM will also ensure that the company has the right number people with required capabilities in timely manner so that the organization is able to achieve its overall strategic objectives.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

CHRM will work as:

  1. Business Consultant/Partner to understand the business priorities and strategy by collaborating with Japan Management Team.  Assess and identify the needs/opportunity and develop the proposal and plan to improve organizational effectiveness to reach the business results.

  2. Change Agent to partner with Japan Management Teams and Key managers/leaders to lead and facilitate organizational and cultural change based on the global values and visions.  Acquire business sponsorship for HR initiatives and successfully execute against the HR strategy and plans.  Lead and/or support of planned organizational changes which may include diagnostics, development and assessment of options, and implementation of changes to ensure the organizational effectiveness.

  3. Program Manager to create and lead projects for the businesses ensuring an effective and sustainable people strategy.  Also develop business-specific proposals and projects to add value to the businesses.

  4. Employee Champion to engage with all employees to strive for an open, inclusive, our culture-based environment that enables effective employee relations and attract talents.

  5. Adapting frameworks and CMC (Core Mandatory Control) to comply with the global operation process and local laws.

  6. Leader to lead and develop the proactive, creative and effective support team to drive culture and operation process of the entire company to the next level. 

  7. Working Manager to develop and improve recruiting practices and succession planning strategies for all Japan.  Maintain human resources disciplines such as compensation, benefits, training, talent acquisition, and diversity.

• BA Degree in Human Resources, Business or related studies
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience including leadership role; consulting experience a plus
• Strong HR content knowledge
• Result oriented
• Able to work under high pressured environment
• Creative , flexible and not afraid of challenges
• Able to work in Matrix Organization
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with colleagues at all levels
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Self-starter, able to work independently
• Business level of English language skills
