業務内容

[Job purpose] 
Lead and oversee challenging and/or complex projects/programs and supervise multiple projects/programs, accountable for providing excellent project management to enable operational delivery. Senior PL supports the Japan Unit Head in setting overall strategy for the Development Unit, guiding JPHs (i.e., Player/Coach), and may deputize for Japan Unit Head for certain leadership functions and management meetings. 

[Major Accountabilities ] 
1.Provide the single point of contact on assigned projects/programs to stakeholders including Marketing, Sales and Global teams as a leader 



2.Provide optimal recommendation on Japan development strategy to Global Program Team (GPT) and/or Global Brand Team (GBT) 



3.Encourage and negotiate with GPT/GBT to integrate Japan program strategy into the Global Program/Brand strategy through a direct relationship with Global Program Head (GPH) or Global Program Team Director (GPTD) 



4.Optimize Project portfolio in assigned Therapeutic area ensuring Global alignment 



5.Responsible for project management for assigned projects/programs. Consolidate, align and represent JPT’s position to GPT/GBT and vice versa 



6.Set-up, drive and monitor assigned projects/programs by leading JPT and collaborating with GPT including adequate risk management adhering to compliance with international and local regulations


 
7.Coach JPT members and ensure that JPT members have the skills and capabilities to enable operational delivery of projects/programs 



8.Quality accountability: Ensure adequate reporting of adverse events/technical complaint/compliance issue in accordance with company procedures and 100% timely delivery of all training requirements including compliance 
In addition to above JPHs’ accountabilities, this position includes following accountabilities 



9.Support and guide in cross-Unit (and cross-project) processes/activities to develop integrated strategic and operational plans for continuous organizational improvement 



10.Ensure organizational alignment and seamless execution toward objectives/goals at higher levels (Division, Company) 



11.Perform dual roles as a highly capable JPH and partner with Unit Head to secure project management excellence at team level 



12.Drive complicated project operations by communicating clear strategy to program teams and negotiating with line functions beyond usual JPT activities 



13.Proactively shape the external environment to defend and improve position relevant to the project by developing strong evidence and trust based relationships with key stakeholders 



14.Support and guide JPHs by coaching and training in alignment with Unit Head 

[KPI] 
1.Project/Program timelines: Post-DTP, DDP, FDP, SDP-J, NDA, Approval, Reexamination application/approval 



2.Project/Program budget: HORIZON has always updated WP information 



3.Project/Program management excellence: Timely JPT deliverables (e.g. Meeting minutes, TGA, Monthly update, Knowledge transfer), Risk management (Risk mitigation plan is always updated) and resource management (HORIZON data is always monitored), Proposal always accompanies necessary and sufficient information when asking stakeholder’s endorsement 



4.Project/Program compliance (Minimize risk and maximize benefit of projects/products in development/post-marketing phases) 



5.Presents TGA in agreement with team members and elicits members’ commitment 



6.Provides orientation session to new members 



7.Regular training activities 

In addition to JPHs’ indications, the following is applied to this position:

Education
(minimum/desirable):
・BSc or MSc in Life science or Marketing
・Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Medical Doctor (MD)
・Excellent command of English language to reflect and represent Japan’s interests for assigned projects/programs in Global environment and to represent Unit Head as needed
・In addition to JPH’s, this position is capable to:
1.Have more depth knowledge in either of science, medical and/or commercial aspect(s) of the drug development process
2.Define and achieve organizational “Best Practice” in project
planning/execution/reporting. Become a principal contributor to JPH’s “Lessons Learned” knowledge base
3.Act as a mentor to JPHs and partner with Unit Head to foster organizational talents
