Associate Interior Designer

AJ+C are looking for a 2Ic or associate interior designer to join a team of 80 design professionals in Chippendale.

The company

AJ+C is a leading multi disciplinary Australian architectural firm offering experience, integrity and innovation. They specialise in delivering award-winning buildings, urban design and interiors projects at various scales, from smaller detailed design projects to complex large scale masterplans. You will be working with a dynamic and energetic team of around 80 in the Chippendale office. With real prospects for internal career advancement and internal and external training the role will suit someone who is driven, motivated and ready to take on a challenge.

The interiors team are made up of 7 designers who work collaboratively across all projects. Your role will be to work along side the director and assist with managing and leading the team day to day, whist also being the front end of the design team. You will be steering the concept and design development for a wide range of projects, meeting clients and interacting with consultants and suppliers.

This is a full time leadership role where the successful candidate will be responsible for project delivery and client relationship management as well as staff mentoring. Working in partnership with the director of Interiors, you will utilise your excellent coordination skills to lead a team of Interior Designers from concept to completion.

What you will need

  • Bachelor of interior design or Recognised qualification from a reputable design institution
  • 8+ year’s local experience working across either residential, aged care or education sectors
  • Ability to manage client relationships
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team of interior designers across all phases of a project from concept to completion
  • The ability to run multiple projects at one time under the assistance of a director
  • Strong conceptual designer with proven eye for design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
