Randstad are currently recruiting on behalf of one of Australia’s leading ICT companies for an experienced Account Manager to join their innovative team. Reporting to the Sales Director the purpose of this role is to maintain, develop and win new business within the Victorian public sector.

To be successful in this role you will have experience public sector sales, offering ICT solutions to Medium and Large Victorian Public Sector Agencies.

Job Description:

  • Generating sufficient new sales leads to pursue
  • Managing a multi-million dollar pipeline of accounts
  • Develop Territory Plans, Account Plans and Opportunity Plans as required
  • Build and maintain Customer Satisfaction through the development of broad customer relationships, including senior management contact
  • Maintaining high activity levels to generate an opportunity pipeline sufficient to achieve orders targets
  • Facing growing competition and lower prices in an increasingly commoditized market
  • Sales are the main point of contact for all issues. Escalations are often referred back to sales
  • Balancing internal and external demands on reporting, account management and sales
  • Transition Management and Service delivery to ensure speedy revenue turn on
  • Time demands of customers balanced with managing internal expectations

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A high level of general business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively at CIO, CFO and CEO level.
  • A Telecommunications or IT background is not essential but, would be advantageous
  • Experience in the development of account and opportunity plans and internal business cases
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and effective listening skills
  • The ability to effectively negotiate complex sales at senior levels
  • Discipline, self management, planning and administration skills
