Outstanding opportunity to work with a Federal Government department on a part time contract as an Administration and Mail Room Assistant. Genuine opportunity for work/life balance; work from 4:00- 7:00pm on a casual ongoing basis. Have your days off to focus on other commitments!

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Action mail functions within specified timeframes, including but not limited to opening, sorting, scanning mail, distributing mail to business units and dispatching outgoing mail.
  • Perform routine data entry activities.
  • Assist with various record management functions including trimming, filing, creating new files and archiving of files.
  • Provide administration support services such as preparation of routine documents, correspondence and letters.
  • Provide customer service support to the Customer Services unit when required.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders providing advice, information and assistance in relation to general unit enquiries.
  • Participate in unit and group/ division projects and initiatives as required.

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in performing mail room functions, including: opening mail, sorting, scanning, distributing and delivering mail.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and TRIM or decipher
  • Ability to clearly communicate with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Be an Australian citizen or resident.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A friendly and outgoing personality.
  • The genuine desire for part-time hours.
