Our client in the Federal government sector is looking for a suitably qualified individual to step in to support key changes across policy. Reviewing best business practices including the handling of confidential data and the implementation of a new document management system. This role will be for an ASAP start for approximately 3 months with the potential for extension.

The Role

The role of the Assistant Director will revolve around the responsibility for implementing improved approaches to handling confidential information and co-ordinating business actions to implement a new document storage system. The role will also contribute to other projects on ways of working, with a focus on risk and project & program management.

Key Duties

  • Lead on the development and implementation of effective processes to ensure appropriate handling of sensitive and confidential information
  • Work with collaboratively with colleagues to co-ordinate adoption of a company wide document storage system
  • Work with the Strategic Transformation Program team to support the work force through the development and use of tools to identify and manage risk
  • Engage with the team and wider organisation to ensure portfolio and program management capabilities are delivered
  • Key project and program duties aces effective prioritisation, tracking, resource allocation, and capability and capacity planning.

Your experience will demonstrate

  • Previous experience in providing and implementing improvement, new process within in an organisation ideally candidates with experience across risk management, handling of information, and project and program management
  • Knowledge of approaches to ensure compliance with critical corporate policies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the environment in which public sector bodies in general and regulators in particular operate is highly desirable.
  • Experience of promoting Good information handling practices and enabling effective consideration
  • of risk is highly desirable.
  • Experience an knowledge to Develop, implement and drive compliance with critical corporate
  • policies.
  • Support improvements in organisational performance by helping identify and implement new ways of working

  • Highly motivated and resilient individual and demonstrated ability to:
  • Confident to take ownership, exercise judgement and autonomy and make reasonable decisions/recommendations on complex issues
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment and adapt to meet immediate and future challenges
  • Strong ability to time manage and work to desired deadlines and meet both project and program deliverables.
  • To be a be key contact for other staff with eh ability to provide guidance and direction to ensure professional development. Provide support and direction to less experienced staff and assist in building their skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of clients both internal and external including staff that do not directly report in to the position.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.
