A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated Senior Research & Credit Analyst to step up to and join this highly regarded financial services organization leading a small team of analysts responsible for the health of the Infrastructure & Utilities portfolio.

Working closely with your industry Relationship Managers and various Product areas you will also develop sector policies and work to expand the existing portfolio within the current risk framework. Additionally you will continue to maintain your own small portfolio of key high value relationship accounts and use your market and industry experience to deliver key customer insights.

To be successful you will be able to quickly review, digest and contribute to complex credit analysis and transaction structuring. In addition, you will need to have strong advocacy skills and be able to influence key decision makers through your demonstrated understanding of both deal specific and industry risks.

You will be sufficiently skilled and experienced to:

  • Ensure that all aspects of the credit process, including the required due diligence, are properly executed;
  • Test proposals against approved business and credit strategies, target market acceptance criteria and underwriting standards;
  • Determine the suitability of proposals, including acceptability of credit risk and structuring for final approval by a Credit Officer.

As a coach and mentor, you will:

  • Use a strategic vision to provide an overall perspective of the industry sectors and create long term view;
  • Bring your deal experience and/or depth of industry knowledge to lead and develop the team’s overall expertise;
  • Direct the management of resources to optimise results across the portfolio;
  • Develop the skills within the team and create appropriate succession planning.

Ideally we would like to hear from you if you have:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in institutional banking credit analysis, ideally with a number of years specialism within the Infrastructure/Utilities/Project Finance sector;
  • Previous people management and development experience would be a distinct advantage;
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to manage significant relationships with stakeholders;
  • Extensive experience applying a risk mindset and commercial acumen;
  • Strong attention to detail and operational expertise - knowledge of local credit policies and regulations
  • Strategic selling experience would be beneficial.
