About the role

One of our clients based in Geelong is looking for a Business Analyst / Data Analyst to join them on a two year contract.

As a Business Analyst you will be required to review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and analyse metrics that are currently being tracked through system generated reporting, manual work around and data collation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse data trends and pain points emerging in metrics. Assist in identification of business metric improvements to align metrics to desired business outcomes.
  • Facilitate the identification of business needs, monitoring and collating data and identifying competing demands, organisational changes and new responsibilities.
  • Facilitate creation of consistent Pulse Management boards to track key leading and lagging metrics effectively to drive consistent high performance.
  • Facilitate process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis. Collaborate with process design and continuous improvement teams within Service & Process Design Branch to drive process excellence.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of key pain points resulting in actionable insights for process design team.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at both a conceptual and tactical level in conjunction with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Schedules when necessary in line with agreed program management governance arrangements.

Skills

  • Previous experience working in a Business Analyst position and reviewing end to end business processes
  • Extensive experience in root cause analysis, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Statistical data analysis tools.
  • Ability to develop extensive relationships with both senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in providing strategic advice, problem solving and issues management for internal and external stakeholders in relation to complex and potentially controversial matters
  • Strong analytical skills to draw on research, evidence and performance reports to influence improved service delivery.
