My client is an Australian Government Department seeking an experienced Business Analyst to be a key player in a business critical transformation project. This is an initial 6 month contract based in Parramatta.


The Senior Business Analyst will report directly to the Project Manager and provide expertise to identify, analyse and facilitate improvements to business systems, processes and workflows aligned with overall business and customer requirements; including business analysis, requirements definition and business case development to improve online work stream.

The role Responsibilities:

  • Providing business analysis and/or systems expertise to maintain and improve standardised shared services processes that support the Shared Services strategic direction and objectives.
  • Identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements.
  • Analyse the feasibility of, and develop requirements for new processes and procedures or enhancements to existing processes and procedures; ensures the service delivery design fits the needs of the customers and the business.
  • Leveraging the tools and techniques of process improvement to drive customer centric process efficiency and effectiveness to implement business process improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify customer and business requirements and their associated critical business processes for process improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other units to identify system and process gaps and improvement strategies needed to assist these units to deliver excellent customer service.

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ Years Experience
  • Strong communication and written skills required
  • Outstanding analytical skills so that business needs are properly interpreted and translated into application and operational requirements
  • Strong problem solving skills to create workable solutions to business problems
  • Facilitation skills to identify and describe a desired future state, the business analyst must also be able to help the business reach agreement on the future state in question is desired.
  • Working knowledge of key BA techniques including: brainstorming, process modelling and business rules, scenarios and use cases
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suits adept in the use of Excel and MS Project
  • Contact/Call Centre and Performance Management experience (Desirable)
