Our client is a leading Australian FMCG manufacturer and distributor of a range of personal hygiene, cleaning, laundry and oral care products. Its brands are some of the most well known in Australia. Your focus will be towards the laundry products range.



The objective of this role is to expand the company’s presence in the non-grocery sales space.
Reporting to Head of Sales the New Business Development Manager will be responsible for the establishment of new revenue streams.
The focus will be on non-grocery/non-pharmacy sales channels such as distributors, commercial users and other retailers.

To succeed in this role you will be an established sales/business development executive ideally with experience selling FMCG products into the target market.
You will comfortably demonstrate the capacity to both plan and execute and will be able to operate relatively autonomously. While initially not a staff management role, over time you would be expected to build a team and as such people management experience would be well regarded.
You must be excited by the opportunity of building a new function.




Job purpose

  • Plan, direct and control the sales and marketing business strategies and activities of the Industrial/Food Service/Route Channels to achieve the budgeted sales volume, revenue and profit margins
  • Manage Customer Business Plans to ensure all KPI’s are achieved
  • Identify channel opportunities and execute new product launches in these channels

Experience required

  • FMCG background - preferably industrial, route or Independent grocery sector - You must have a network within food service, industrial cleaning or hardware to hit the ground running
  • Strong selling and negotiations skills
  • Analyse data (AC Nielsen and Aztec Information)
  • Use of promax, pronto or similar programs
  • Proven track record in sales and account management in the FMCG or Consumer Goods environment
  • Will have strong relationship and communication skills and possess leadership qualities to ensure the business continues to grow
  • Degree in Marketing/Business Management
  • Excellent leadership
