Chief Financial Officer

About the role:

Reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the Executive Leadership team the role of the CFO is to take complete ownership of the financial stewardship of the organisation. With multiple stakeholders to support, both internal and external, the role will be extremely operational and commercially focused.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide timely and accurate advice to the CEO on all matters relevant to the CEO & Board responsibilities and functions within the scope of this role and more broadly as required.
  • Maintaining relationships with external parties such as lenders, legal advisors, auditors and other regulatory authorities
  • Leading and managing the day to day accounting operations including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting both from a statutory and management reporting perspective as well as complying with all tax related matters.
  • Oversee the robust financial analysis / review of strategic and operational initiatives to ensure sound decision making and allocation of financial resources consistent with strategic plan.
  • Oversee the development of annual operating budgets for the Group and support Executive peers on the development of divisional budgets, annual operating and capital plans.
  • Performing financial analysis and evaluation of business opportunities and activities such as new opportunities, ROI, and significant marketing initiatives to ensure consistency with the business strategy.
  • Responsible for the overall cash management, including cashflow forecasting to ensure adequate cash resources are available to operate the business.
  • Provide contemporary people leadership to the team, working in partnership with Human Resources, to drive high performance and celebrate success and quickly and fairly respond to performance and/or conduct matters.
  • Mentoring and development of not only the finance talent but continual improvement of processes that have a positive impact on their customers.
  • Any other ad hoc projects or initiatives that may be required.

The Successful Applicant

Interpersonally, you are an ambitious, self-starter who is continually looking for personal and professional development. You work well in a collaborative environment and are comfortable within a contemporary management style organisation.

  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA preferred)
  • Has strong technical and commercial accounting experience and sound knowledge of working for a multi channel organisation.
  • Demonstrated business partnering experience with a focus on building strong working relationships with commercial and operations teams to make sound business decisions.
  • Is a natural Leader with a track record of leading high performing finance team/s across multiple locations
  • Previous financial systems implementation, ideally EPICOR, and a demonstrated project management skillset.
  • Property and Construction experience, with apartment development, is desirable
  • You are an articulate and thoughtful communicator who is proven effective at influencing executive level stakeholders and peers alike.
