Contract Administrator and Estimator

Work for a highly reputable highly established build construction company working on projects that include fitouts, healthcare, education, retail, and commercial projects all throughout Australia. They are now looking to recruit a contracts administrator and estimator for multiple projects in Sydney. The duties for this contract administrator role will include:

  • Preparation of bills of quantities and liaising closely with sub-contractors
  • Preparing packages and tenders
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Checking and obtaining monthly insurances
  • Dealing with contract claims and variations
  • Preparation of final accounts and organising payments for sub contracts
  • Managing procurement and ensuring cost efficiencies
  • Establishing and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Maintaining cost control and compliance with government regulations and ethical standards
  • Being instrumental in the successful delivery of the project on time and budget

The requirements for this contract administrator role include:

  • Tertiary qualified in construction economics, quantity surveying, business law or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a commercial capacity on fitout and construction projects with a thorough understanding of codes and standards
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability in decision making
  • Local knowledge is key for this role
  • Have the proven ability to maintain and develop relationships with people from all levels of the organisation

The duties of this Estimator role include:

  • Ensuring the provision of accurate estimates for tenders by assessing tender documents
  • Working closely with the team in order to provide accurate quotations for pricing procedures
  • Analysing quotations from sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Preparation of schedules for projects from preliminary tender to final tender
  • Cost planning of projects from preliminary design
  • The provision of bill of quantities in order to provide cost management of specification of upcoming projects

The requirements for this Estimator role include:

  • Strong experience working in an estimating capacity on design and construction projects
  • Provision of excellent customer service to other business stakeholders, suppliers, contractors & clients
  • Strong analytical coupled with written and verbal communication skills
  • Need to have estimated on age care, medical, or commercial projects
  • Have a solid background of winning projects
  • Highly competent IT skills with exposure to industry software such as Microsoft Office & estimating software
  • Need excellent attention to detail
