Randstad are proud Government recruitment partners working with Local, State and Federal Government bodies to match the best talent with the most exclusive opportunities. Our Public Sector recruitment team looks after the provision of administration, accounting & finance, policy and communications positions. We have teamed up with one of the largest Queensland State Government Departments to recruit an experienced Traffic Manager (AO7 equivalent). This role would suit a motivated individual looking to move from an agency to public sector role.

This is an exciting new role in the Content & Media Team with a focus on overseeing the production of cutting edge creative content. As Traffic Manager & Creative Team Leader, you will be responsible for the scheduling and delivery of all projects and creative output throughout the branch. You will work closely with senior colleagues to collectively ensure the creative and strategic objectives of the branch are met.

The successful applicant will have proven experience as a Traffic Manager in a creative agency, media or marketing environment managing a studio of graphic designers and ideally production managers. Alternatively, you will be a senior studio manager with a background as a graphic designer or producer who has effectively managed a large team and their workflow and has extremely strong project and client management skills.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of creative outputs for the branch in line with agreed strategy and to strict deadlines, including graphic design, photography, video production, editing and dispatch.
  • Efficiently plan, allocate and oversee the work of all project teams and a team of designers and producers using an existing branch-wide project management system.
  • Collaborate and work closely with all functions within the branch, ensuring internal stakeholders are kept updated and informed on the status of all projects.
  • Lead and manage a team, including coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Manage conflicting timelines and priorities to ensure suitable solutions are agreed and timeframes and strategic outcomes are met.
  • Engage external agencies where required, from an approved panel of suppliers, and manage the delivery of their work to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and analysis of creative outputs.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • A strong knowledge of the technical requirements of graphic design, photography, video production, editing and dispatch.
  • A proven ability to manage and lead a busy team of people, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and a strong ability to effectively prioritise, allocate and deliver to strict deadlines across multiple teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure effective prioritisation and delivery of all projects for the branch.
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills, including strong relationship management skills, to effectively negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
