An exciting opportunity has arisen with a blue chip name of Victorian construction, a builder who has an outstanding reputation for delivering high spec commercial and apartment projects to $30m. As part of their continued growth and development they are now seeking to appoing Post Delivery/Defects Manager. In this role you will be responsible for handling the post completion defects for projects, which includes the receipt, tracking, closing out and reporting of all raised defects. Yo will also play a key role in live sites at critical points to ensure compliance to quality standards.

Key day to day responsibilites and duties include:

  • Receipt and review of all incoming defect notifications and logging onto the Post Completion Defect spreadsheets and the ongoing maintenance of this through the rectifcation process
  • Coordination of trades to attend to and rectify defects
  • Issuing of monthly Defect Reports to Senior Management
  • Ensure all defects are finalised in accordance with the expiry of the Defects Liability Period to ensure the company reciever their final retention back in a timely manner
  • Drive efficeinces for the company related defects; for example, completing trae works internally where possible and whenc nessarcy, tracking costs and submitting to project team for backharges
  • Introduction to body corporate at handover to acts as main liaison for the company in relation to defects
  • Explain technical processes and articulate knowledge of the Defect Management process to audience

This is a key role for the company where you will be given full support by the senior management team and interact weekly with site delivery teams to enhance and refine company standards in realtion to defects. We are seeking indidviduals with the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in site related roles (ideally hands-on foreman role)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi task and prioritise tasks
  • The ability to effectively communicate with project stakehodlers including subcontractors, body corporate clients and end users
  • Ability to solve probelms and manageme conflict effectively and good practical knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.

An attractive salary package in the $130k-$150k range is available for the successful applicant, depending upon experience.
