Our Client is a privately owned Australian manufacturer of CNC cutting equipment with worldwide distribution.
They seeking an R&D Design Engineer to take concept designs for new projects through to Prototype and market ready products.
You will work autonomously but under guidance of the R&D Manager to design the mechanical and electrical control systems of the products.
Their projects will need to be market ready in the shortest possible time and you need to qualified and demonstrate competence in the following areas.
Design and develop special purpose laser cutting machinery
Liaise with and provide support to customers and Technical Support
Bill of Material control within a typical release control structure
Troubleshoot challenging customer request
Develop and document test procedures for machinery designed
Good working knowledge of CE marking standards, Australian Machinery standards, ability to design to such and perform risk assessments.
Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications
Testing and commissioning
Preparation of test plans
Provide customer support as required
Tertiary qualified in Mechatronic Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant work experience
Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques, stress/strain, vibration, pneumatics and hydraulics
Highly proficient in producing engineering drawings using AutoCAD Inventor
Understanding of servo drive systems
Extensive experience designing Laser Cutting or similar systems
Knowledge of materials, materials handling and manufacturing processes
High level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem solving focus (root cause analysis, process improvements & corrective actions)
Proven ability to easily work with other site stakeholders to motivate and inspire team contribution and to influence outcomes.
Writing of technical documentation
Possess excellent communication skills and want to work in a collaborative atmosphere
The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential.
