Dev-Ops Engineer – Sydney CBD

A leading E-Health organisation based in the Sydney CBD are searching for Dev-Ops Engineer to join their team in a permanent position.

The Dev-Ops Engineer will be responsible for developing the platform services that underpin the service lines in the AWS environment. They are responsible for engineering solutions to address platform level concerns and also work with other teams to develop patterns, standards and approaches to work.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Provide automation of infrastructure provisioning, patching, monitoring and scaling.
  • Develop deployment automation for project teams using software build tools, continuous integration and orchestration tools.
    Integrate automated configuration, infrastructure and non-functional testing within the build process.
  • Create sandbox, development, test and production environments that support software development teams in ephemeral IaaS.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • 5+ years experience in AWS cloud based virtualization, such as, Multi-AZ VPCs, CloudFront, AWS Shield, RDS, ECS, EC2, R53, S3.
  • 5+ years writing scripts and code in a variety of open source technologies, Linux/Windows
  • 5+ years experience working with service management, networking and infrastructure
  • 3+ years experience working with development team(s) that delivered commercial software or software-based services across a full SDLC (e.g. Microservices, Lambda, SOA)
  • 3+ years hands on experience of automation CI/CD tooling eg, Jenkins, Bamboo, Packer, Terraform, Docker, Puppet, GIT and Nexus.
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of AWS tooling and practical implementation for both continuous integration and deployment disciplines, including, CloudFormation, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild
  • Detailed Sysadmin level knowledge of O/S and networking, for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Proven background in production incident and problem management utilising centralized logging and monitoring solutions (ELK, Syslog, CloudTrail, DataDog, etc..)
