A Local Council based in Sydney's Western Suburbs, is looking to appoint a Development Planner. This is a permanent opportunity, but I also have contract roles available.

The Development Planner will be responsible for the assessment of development applications and attendance of planning enquiries. They will assist the Fast Track System in expediting the assessment and processing of routine type development applications. Coordination of legal/court matters arising from the development assessment process. Exercise the statutory powers, duties, responsibilities and delegations associated with the position.

This role will report directly to the Development Services Coordinator and will have a wide range of communications, such as: officers of the organisation relevant to development assessment, development and building compliance, building certification, senior management, councillors, developers and builders, designers and architects. Owners, solicitors, government agencies and members of the public.

To be successful you will hold a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent. Have previous development assessment experience in Local Government. Have a Class C drivers license and an understanding pf the Environmental and Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act and relevant legislation.
