Primary Purpose of Position
The primary function of this position is to automate and streamline our operations and processes, thereby enabling continuous integration / delivery work culture. In this role, you will be working as part of the ITS Enterprise Applications portfolio, servicing a range of applications in various domains.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Champion, inspire and create a DevOps and Continuous Delivery culture within the application team, collaborating closely with other ITS teams.
Work closely with software delivery teams to identify opportunities for improvement / automation in processes, software development, release & test framework
Automate the process of provisioning & deployment of enterprise application environments infusing containerization concepts, like Docker
Collaborate with stakeholders and manage expectations to ensure the release process is streamlined and effective
Identify reoccurring issues and work with IT & Business partners to remediate using the problem management process.
Influence other teams and broader ITS groups in adopting DevOps best practices.
Participate to the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on release and post-production support.
Provide feedback for software releases as they move through the delivery cycle into Production
Provide support and motivate others towards the achievement of individual team and company objectives, and provide support to production support teams as and when required.

Adhere to processes and procedures for supporting the environments, ensuring they are maintained and meet security requirements

Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in Information technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
A drive and passion for a continuous improvement regime with a significant focus on automation
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff across multiple disciplines and management levels, building positive relationships that encourage mutual respect, cooperation, and collaboration
Sound judgement and an ability to exercise initiative and work autonomously to meet shared objectives
Experience of DevOps, Continuous Delivery and Agile methodologies, as well as software development processes and understanding of release and deployment processes
Strong background in Linux / Unix Administration and experience in orchestration frameworks (Puppet, Ansible, Chef), source/version control tools (git, SVN), scripting (Ruby, Python, Java & Shell), test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium Webdriver), containerisation technologies (LXC, Docker, CoreOS), and CI tools (Jenkins, bamboo, Octopus Deploy)
Good knowledge and hands-on experience in designing enterprise system architecture, infrastructure as code
Experience in the use of PeopleSoft Financials or other finance systems, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other student systems or HRIS Solutions
