The primary purpose of this role is to ensure safety advice and facilitate the safety management system for your client group. Reporting to the General Manager Environmental Health and Safety you will combine your operational WH&S leadership experience with your ability to influence a contemporary WH&S culture. You will drive a unified and consistent approach to WH&S across this business as part of a project to achieve best practice.

  • Ensure relevant legislation is effectively implemented and followed.
  • Provide legislative and work related safety advice, risk assessments incident investigations and safety procedures.
  • Identify, assess and recommend suitable and reasonable risk control solutions for workplace hazards within the company’s policy and state legal framework (nationally)
  • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Up skill management teams and build upon the organisation’s safety culture.
  • Partner the management team to encourage safe and thorough WH&S practices and drive initiatives to comply with audit findings.
  • Manage all WH&S and workers compensation matters – oversee claims management processes.

Working closely with your stakeholders, you will partner with the business to ensure continuous improvement in your region. Previous experience with geographically dispersed, multisite client groups will help you hit the ground running. You will draw on your experiences working in environments with risk registers, manual handling and other hazards associated with blue collar environments.

You must be prepared for frequent state based travel and will be provided with a fully maintained vehicle. This is an opportunity to truly influence a safety culture with the flexibility to make the role your own.
