Our client is seeking a Electrical Engineer / Supervisor to join they're highly qualified team.

You role is important, and you must be confident working in the Oil & Gas environment, which will require you to work on-site.


Some of the duties will involve:

  • Directs and prepares circuit maps, control diagrams, charts, data bases, and plans for different electrical facilities.
  • Prepares and reviews standards, equipment specifications, design procedures, test procedures
  • Plan and supervise generating equipment
  • Supervise construction plans and specifications
  • Provide Leadership to Operational and Maintenance staff as required
  • Assist in the design and drawing of complex electrical systems
  • Decide on the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers
  • Make or improve electrical products such as motors, equipment
  • Interpret specifications and regulations about electric power equipment and its use
  • Record and communicate engineering discipline deficiencies for project
  • Identify and escalate to the Deputy Project Manager any shortfalls in resource numbers or capability within discipline which may threaten the technical design work on the project
  • Ensuring adequate interfacing between other technical disciplines
  • Ensure all technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant procedures

As a successful candidate you will have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a site based Engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate experience successfully leading electrical projects (including coordination of work, plans, budgets and controls)
  • Exceptional team player, with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working closely with construction and O&M personnel
  • Excellent planning, project management and communication skills
  • Commitment to supporting a culture of Safety and Health above all else

The following additional skills / attributes are not mandatory, however would be highly regarded:

  • Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer will be well regarded
  • Individuals should have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically
  • Project engineering/management experience in an industrial or Oil & Gas environment preferred.


Some of the duties will involve:

  • Communicating with relevant direct reports or team members in relation to key dates and milestones
  • Manage the site works to ensure day labour and subcontractors are optimised
  • Ensure the requirements of the Project Management system documentation, including safety and environment are met in the field
  • Contribute to the delivery of project on time and within budget
  • Continuously oversee work, analyse production methods and production performance
  • Monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate correct action where necessary

As a successful candidate you will have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Must have owners team/client side experience
  • Electrical trade qualification (NT A Grade Electrical Licence preferred)
  • Extensive contractor supervision/management and construction experience. (exposure to greenfield or brownfield operating environment preferred).
  • Extensive experience in risk assessment development
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of services and infrastructure
  • An understanding of contractual obligations of subcontractors
  • Proven background building and retaining a highly energised team
  • Superior communication and people skills
